Welcome to Just-Follow-The-River! – Here is briefly what it’s all about…

A few years ago now I read a book about a guy who cycled around the world covering a total distance of around 46,000 miles in 4 years on a budget so tight that it would make Alastair Darlings eyeballs pop out of his face! Over the course of reading this book,  and many others, I was always amazed by the spirit of adventure and the sheer passion that was often displayed by the individuals who embarked upon such journeys. Above all however, it was in reading up on the adventures of others that I was inspired to set sail and embark upon my own adventure which, brings me to the whole point of this blog…

 This blog will track the Journey of me and my girlfriend as we set off on a long cycle tour across Europe following the river Rhine and the river Danube (and probably getting a little lost along the way!!) before eventually crossing over into eastern Europe…
